raw materials with which SOMANONI® is processed do not undergo
any kind of manipulation. Our noni
juice DOES NOT come from concentrated nor lyophilized from
noni fruit, reason why we do not have to reconstitute it with
water of doubtful origin in doubtful proportions. We just press
the aged fruit to extract the juice; then we put it under the
pasteurization process that guarantees its stability and suitability
for the human consumption.
The process of pasteurization and the quality controls allow us
NOT to have to add any kind of conservators or preservatives,
neither chemical nor natural, that could interfere with the active
principles of noni.
In the case of our nectar,
we added honey because it is the most natural product that can
smooth the intense flavor of the noni juice. The honey has been
used in the drink processing from the times of the Romans, who
added honey to their wines to give them a more pleasant flavor,
as we do.

CERTIFICATION. Somanoni® is certified as organic under the
costarican MAG 29782 regulation, than allows it to access the
ECC as organic because the consideration of Costa Rica as "Third
Country"; it is also certified under Biosuisse to access
the Swiss market; and under the NOP regulation for EE.UU.. Those
certifications are provided by Eco-Lógica®,
accepted by the ECC.

the European and Costa Rican legislation
The 4 december of the 2002 The Scientific Committee on Human
Feeding of the European Economic Community course a report
by which the noni was
classified as "new food derived from sources not genetically
modified and with no history of use within the European Community".
Later, the 5 of June of 2003, the European Commission authorized
the commercialization of the "noni juice" (juice of
the fruit of Morinda citrifolia L.) as new food ingredient for
its use in pasteurized drinks of fruits.
Our legal department studied the european legislation and, after
numerous consultations with the Spanish Sanitary Authorities,
we obtained the Opinion of Substantial Equivalence that
authorizes the commercialization of SOMANONI® within the Community
Market. It has place Tico Catalana S.A. as the first Latin American
company in obtaining this opinion; and SOMANONI® the only
one noni juice, until now, in obtaining it in Spain.
Costa Rican product
Costa Rica is one of the countries that dedicates more resources
to the conservation of their environmental. Their privileged conditions
of ground and climate allow CR to obtain agricultural products
of recognized quality anywhere in the world. Costa Rican noni,
like the banana or coffee (from the Rubiaceae family,
as the noni), is maximum quality and is one of richest in active
substances of the World.

than 250 km of the factory, avoiding the problems of transport

Rican producers through ACAPRO
(Association of Farmers and Organic Producers of Talamanca),
and not to great landowners, reason why the benefits of it's sales
is much more distributed. In addition we do not buy noni fruit
but the noni juice. This way the agriculturists obtain an added
value to their product when selling half-processed raw material
to very superior price to which they would be paid for just the
The nutritional necessities vary from person to person. Actually
